White on White: You can’t go wrong with an all white space. To prevent it from feeling like a hospital room, introduce different textures. A crocheted throw, a rough hewn linen sofa, and a nubby rug all add depth to a monochromatic look. Reading Nook: Carve out a quiet moment in your living room to entice a little reading time. Drag a cozy chair over to a window or next to a bookshelf and be sure to provide ample light for late night page turning. Updated Prep: Give tradition a twist and try a living room filled with old standby silhouettes a Chesterfield sofa, bamboo side chairs in super saturated colors (ocean blue and lime green). Game Changing: An extra large coffee table with a feminine shape is the modern take on the traditional game table. Invite friends over for game night; the edge on the table will keep board pieces (and drinks) from sliding onto the floor. Touch of Trend: Update your living room as you would your wardrobe with a few new accessories each season. This neutral room is an easy canvas for a few pops of color and pattern an aubergine throw, a zebra pillow, and a metallic side table.
The hot and sunny days of this summer are not going to stick around for much longer but you still have time to make the best out of them. And what better way is there to enjoy the beautiful weather other than doing it in your own backyard with your friends and family while enjoying the comfort of your home. This is where the contemporary patio design comes in. If your home is designed in the contemporary design style, then there is no other choice for the patio other than the contemporary design. To make sure you know what you want, we are going to help you with some designs that might be of use to you. You have your own yard and you need an idea how to decorate it properly? Then carefully look at the pictures below. Before you edit the yard, define what would all like to have in it. It it will serve for decoration only, so you will have a lot of plants and flowers, or you want to spend time in it and will set up a gazebo, barbecue, swings, maybe a small pool. When you define your needs then just go to devise and deploy the space where you will set that. If you opt for making enjoyable outdoor room, you need to find some good ideas that will serve you as an inspiration.
Create Picture–Perfect Patio. Your backyard can have a piece of concrete burning under the bright Perth sun, or welcome family and friends by having a warm space to enjoy in. Have you thought about pavers? Perth’s pavers are an excellent option to make your patio an extension of your home. There are many to choose from; Coral pavers give you extra texture you can feel when barefoot, and Glowpave shines by day and emits subtle touches of light by night, just to name a few. Pavers of all sorts will give you an added sense of sophistication and luxury into your dream backyard oasis. Shake Off The Sun. Enjoy the exterior without the nasty consequences of sunburn. By creating shady spots, you will be able to find relief from the exhausting sun and also give your backyard a bit more distinction. A fun way to add a little splash of colour into your design is by adding umbrellas or arbours. If you prefer Mother Nature to do her thing and envision your getaway a little more in touch with natural elements, mature trees will do the trick. Even the sun lovers welcome a little shade once in a while.
Sea of Space: Make your living room a welcome respite for a gang of friends with ample seating and a circular coffee table that’s easy to navigate. Easy Elegance: Keep a formal living room from getting too fussy by mixing dramatic accents like these floor to ceiling drapes with everyday classics, like a pair of neutral slipper chairs. Ladylike Charm: Soft, muted colors and sinuous curtains infuse a living room with a little feminine grace. Extended Seating: The right furniture layout, with a quirky accessory added here and there, can broaden a living room to accommodate large groups and big parties. Mix It Up: Throw caution to the wind and mix in a bunch of different patterns for a lively look. Pick complimentary colors to guide you when shopping.
If you could only choose one room in your home to put your heart and soul into designing, the living room would top the list. It’s that treasured (and often off-limits) space that sets the tone for your entire decorating style. Seeing Red: The secret to taming a fiery red? Balance it with pops of white. A smattering of dove white wall accents with the white fireplace, chair rail, and coffee table keep the bold color in check. Pattern Play: Trellis, ikats, florals oh my! The trick to mixing patterns is to pick a color theme here, reds, browns, and blues and to use big swaths of solid color (the brown sofa, red chairs, and green ottoman) to anchor the space. Light and Airy: You can pack a lot into your living room even a dining set if you keep furnishings from weighing the space down. Lucite dining chairs, an open weave coffee table, and an unobstructed wall of windows keeps this room from feeling cramped.
Viewing Area: The eternal question: What to do with the TV? If space allows, try placing your television in a corner so the flow of the room is uninterrupted (but where you can still enjoy Downton Abbey comfortably from the sofa). Bursts of Cheer: Maxi floral prints and super-sized stripes are whimsical touches that give this living room an affable appearance. Warm and Inviting: Nothing says, “curl up and stay awhile” like an extra-deep, sink into me sofa and a plush ottoman to rest your feet. Load on Layers: Stimulate the senses with plenty of textures, including a scratchy jute rug underfoot, a tweedy wallpaper, and a luxurious cashmere throw on the sofa. Polished Pairs: Ah, the power of two: A pair of identical console tables flank the fireplace and two different, but similarly colored, sofas face each other for a pulled together look. Natural Elements: A mix of polished and unfinished wood pieces, and a neutral shade on the wall, can make a room feel chic and not campy. Feeling the Blues: A palette of navy blues makes this room feel instantly inviting and cozy. It’s a durable color for big pieces of furniture, like this plush sectional, since it masks everyday dirt. Small-Space Solution: The trick to turning a small-space into an elegant living area is to use appropriately sized furniture. A sectional sofa might seem too big for a petite area but in fact it’s the perfect size and helps define the space. (Using small furniture in a tight space only exacerbates a compact feeling.)
The dining table can be in many shapes and colors. When it comes to dining room, it is a space in the house where is located the dining table, which gathers the whole family during meals, especially during lunch. Usually it is a separate room, although it can be together with the kitchen, or with the living room. Today, we present you one little more different idea. It is about double duty dining room designs. There dining rooms have role as place for eating, but in the same time they represent interesting libraries. That way, they are even more attractive and beautiful. If you want to design extraordinary dining room, you should think about the following examples. See them and maybe you will get some idea! The industrial dining room interior design is one of the least popular designs and the reason that most new homeowners decide not to go with it is because they think it is a very simple and unartistic for their home. A lot of people have this opinion for the industrial design style in general because when they hear the word industrial in its name, they immediately think of old factories and warehouses that have been strictly used for industry. While it is true that that is where this style comes from, it is not true that it is extremely simple and has no artistic and aesthetic feature.
Silver Accents: Cool metal touches give this room a sophisticated air. The scrolling mirror, the legs of the coffee table, even the fireplace andirons are all glossed in chic silver. Writing on the Wall: For truly unique (and sometimes quirky) decor. You can search by theme, type, even lyrics to your favorite Men Without Hats song. Does your living room work double duty as a front entry? Keep the two separated and well defined by lining one wall with a welcoming wallpaper, and keeping the living room furniture appropriated to an area rug. Flower Power: Here’s a bloomin’ brilliant idea: Keep oversized patterns in check by limiting them to well defined spaces (here a bouquet of blue flowers covers an occasional seat and an oversized roman shade). It will keep the powerful pattern from taking over the room. Back to Back: Create a dynamic seating arrangement by placing a set of sofas in the center of the room and with their backs to each other. It’s a bold move that creates two conversation corners.

Mirrors: Like buying a rug that is the wrong size for the dining room, an inadequate mirror looks awkward above a vanity. The rules here are strict: The mirror should be exactly as wide as the vanity and hang in the middle of the wall space between the vanity and the ceiling, with about six inches of gap on either side. Of course, the second rule may change if your bathroom ceilings are particularly high; you may want to experiment by cutting facsimiles out of paper and judging the look. The current trend for bathroom mirrors is to surround the glass with a bold wooden frame, as though the mirror were decorative instead of a necessary bathroom feature. The effect does make the room look more polished, but it may be expensive if your mirror is large.

In most people’s vocabularies‚ design means veneer. It’s interior decorating. It’s the fabric of the curtains and the sofa. But to me, nothing could be further from the meaning of design. by Steve Jobs
