White on White: You can’t go wrong with an all white space. To prevent it from feeling like a hospital room, introduce different textures. A crocheted throw, a rough hewn linen sofa, and a nubby rug all add depth to a monochromatic look. Reading Nook: Carve out a quiet moment in your living room to entice a little reading time. Drag a cozy chair over to a window or next to a bookshelf and be sure to provide ample light for late night page turning. Updated Prep: Give tradition a twist and try a living room filled with old standby silhouettes a Chesterfield sofa, bamboo side chairs in super saturated colors (ocean blue and lime green). Game Changing: An extra large coffee table with a feminine shape is the modern take on the traditional game table. Invite friends over for game night; the edge on the table will keep board pieces (and drinks) from sliding onto the floor. Touch of Trend: Update your living room as you would your wardrobe with a few new accessories each season. This neutral room is an easy canvas for a few pops of color and pattern an aubergine throw, a zebra pillow, and a metallic side table.
Lighting in the kitchen of one of the most important elements of the interior – has to be perfectly functional and quality to be able to work safely and operate the machines, but also imaginatively and creatively arranged to provide a more comfortable environment. For pleasant lighting in the kitchen are the same rules as for other rooms – light must be varied and to comes from different sources. Most designers are using the lighting in the kitchen from three categories: central, functional and light that evokes the atmosphere. For all of them it is possible to install silencers. Functional lighting means bright light directly above the work surface, sink and electrical appliance. In some kitchens to the underside of the upper elements can be found red lights, while in the other in the cupboards can be built halogen lamps. There are cabinets with lamps that are placed above the desk. In addition you can see some inspirational ideas of track kitchen lighting. While browsing our previous collections of the traditional interior design style showcase, you might have noticed that we haven’t yet covered the traditional home bar. Well, we are going to fix that now and add it to our long list of collections featuring the traditional kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living room, dining room, home office and kids’ room. What is amazing about the traditional home bar design is the amount of detail put into it and the attention to the smallest of things that can improve it’s capacity as well as make it more practical to use.
In many homes the desk is mandatory piece of furniture. Whether it comes to children’s desk or a desk with a computer that is used by the whole family, the time spenden on this table is not negligible. Therefore, we should pay attention to choosing the appropriate table, depending on the type of work and the age of the person that will use it. The table should have above or below, shelves or drawers to store all needed stuff. This will enable greater visibility and more free surface to work. When it comes to teen’s room, table should be set that way, to allow full concentration of the child, such as, for example, in the corner of the room. An ideal place for a desk is by the window, to have natural light for succesfull work. If the table is not set by the window, the lack of daylight should be upgraded with table lamp, which is mandatory piece in every work space. Bringing the decision what kind of chairs to buy, can be a complex task because the market has a large selection of different models, colors, materials and sizes.
Countertop: Usually, home remodelers devote weeks of deliberation to their kitchen countertops only to flippantly choose the material that makes up their bathroom vanities. However, vanity countertops are just as integral to the room’s design – if not more so, considering the smaller space. By hiring a reliable cabinetmaker, you can select from a bevy of countertop materials, including: granite, marble, quartzite, laminate, tile, wood, concrete. Of course, some countertop materials will be easier to maintain than others in the humid bathroom environment. For example, wood counters, unless immaculately sealed, will soak up steam like a sponge and rot. Tile, though amply customizable, may be difficult to clean with the small, rough grout lines. Generally, the safest and easiest choices are granite and marble, which create a sophisticated, stunning look and little hassle.
Lighting: Because most of your day’s (and night’s) preparation takes place in the bathroom, it is perhaps most essential that you light this space in your house right. Too much, too little, or otherwise improper lighting around the vanity could result in garish grooming, so you don’t want to skimp on your lighting budget. While it may be wise to install dimmable recessed lighting around the rest of the room, such lights are dangerous around the vanity, where they can cast deceiving shadows on the face. Instead, vertical fixtures or sconces mounted on either side of the mirror will provide even light. These task lights should total 150 watts, providing sufficient brightness that won’t wash out the face’s features.

Does your living room work double duty as a front entry? Keep the two separated and well defined by lining one wall with a welcoming wallpaper, and keeping the living room furniture appropriated to an area rug. Flower Power: Here’s a bloomin’ brilliant idea: Keep oversized patterns in check by limiting them to well defined spaces (here a bouquet of blue flowers covers an occasional seat and an oversized roman shade). It will keep the powerful pattern from taking over the room. Back to Back: Create a dynamic seating arrangement by placing a set of sofas in the center of the room and with their backs to each other.
